We had a wonderful time visiting Reno and our family. Our spot at the Reno KOA was a premium site with a fire pit, propane BBQ, and patio included in the deal.
Our first weekend in town we had Adam and the kids over for dinner and s’mores after they treated us the night before to Tacos Jalisco. Everything was going well until the honeybees began buzzing our table and drove us all inside for dinner.
The smoke and fire were enough to drive the pests away and everyone had a ball burning marshmallows and making s’mores.
We managed to stay busy the following week with an RV inspection about 50 miles away. It was a good inspection although long and hot since it was on a larger motorhome parked on asphalt.
The following weekend we spent time with family at Adam’s house and had a fun time with the granddaughters. Did I mention gymnastics? Both Audrey and Rose are taking gymnastics and we’ve had a great time watching them train.
Thursday and Friday were spent at Stead watching the Reno Air Races. While we were there we found out one of my old buddies from Nellis AFB was there with the Commemorative Air Force. We decided to pay the extra money to get into the pits on Friday and had time to meet Rob and get caught up on about 10 years worth of activities before he jumped into his Grumman F6F Hellcat for the demo.
We met Allison, Adam and the girls at their house on Saturday the 15th and walked across the street to meet their new neighbors, James and Jessica, who hosted an Air Race Party. As they say, a fun time was had by all and we hated to leave but Bella had to get her walkies in!
Three weeks passed pretty quickly and it was time to leave just before Audrey’s birthday so we invited everyone out on Monday night before we left so we could wish her a happy third birthday. Once again it was Tacos Jalisco since I’m eating High Fat, Low Carb and the fajitas are AWESOME!
It’s always hard leaving the kids and grandkids but we keep in mind that we’ll be back for Christmas!
