What do you do when you’re out at sea for four straight days? The answer is: Stay Busy!
The Star Princess offered a number of activities, restaurants, entertainment, and hang outs.
One of the highlights of this cruise is the talks given by Mark Harris. A naturalist who has worked around the world with National Geographic and a number of scientific groups. His daily talks on the way to Hawaii prepared us by featuring the flora and fauna of the four islands we would visit with a few sightseeing tips thrown in.
Ilene had brought her cross stitch, I had brought my watercolors and we’d find a table to hang out and work our crafts/art for a few hours each day. We met others doing the same thing including a lady making necklaces and bracelets.
The ships shopping coordinator had a number of talks about what to purchase while in port or on the ship and these usually included free booze and raffles for free gifts. Ilene and I sat through a rum presentation and managed to win a bottle of rum! Ain’t life grand…only thing was we couldn’t get the bottle until the end of the cruise…bummer.
One of our favorite hangouts became the Crooner’s Bar. Situated along the promenade deck with a nice view of the ocean we could enjoy our traditional “drink of the day” and people watch, read, or sketch.
